Looks like Thomas Ravenel might have a little trouble getting his facts right … or at least spelling them correctly.

This is a script we’ve seen before: A creepy Uncle Sam character portrays Big Gubmint, and politician rails against said government. Pretty standard.

But in a new ad for his independent petition race for U.S. Senate that rolls out what we can only assume will be a series of snarky “Tom Facts” (inexplicably starting at #38), we learn that “Thomas Ravenel hates goverment overreach.”

Now, normally we wouldn’t begrudge anyone’s spelling or grammatical error (certain CP editors have been known to have nightmares over uncaught mistakes), but we’d expect the ad’s big Hollywood director and Southern Charm producer Whitney Sudler-Smith to be a stickler for the details.

It’s OK, we’ll let it slide this time. Now if we can only find these 37 other “Tom Facts” …

UPDATE (Thursday, 1 p.m.): Shortly after this report was published, the ad was taken down, with YouTube indicating the spot “has been removed by the user.”

UPDATE (Friday, 2 p.m.): Tom Fact #38 is back, and this time “goverment” is a little bigger.
