Local musician/vocalist Livy Conner, joined by guitarist Will McKay and bassist Bandi Tomaschek, recently recorded Sleepy EP, the follow-up to 2012’s Mind of Your Own. The songs were recorded in three-and-a-half days in Atlanta’s Spinning Whale Studios, run by Tomaschek. “For most of the songs, our process was basically a rotation of a different person starting with a seed as simple as a drum beat or lazy two chord progression, and then we all built upon it in layers of instruments, melodies, and words,” Conner says. Sleepy EP will be mixed and mastered in the coming weeks, with an as-yet-unknown release date.
