Congrats on making it through the weekend, but don’t start celebrating just yet. Access to the peninsula has been reopened, but Charleston remains under a flash flood warning until 9:30 a.m. A flash flood watch and wind advisory are in effect until 5 p.m.

According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, flooding has resulted in the deaths of at least 9 people in South Carolina since the storm began and residents in many parts of the state have been advised to remain home unless there is an emergency. 

The National Weather Service says Charleston can expect more rain and possibly a thunderstorm between 8 a.m. and noon, followed by showers in the afternoon. As much as three quarters of an inch of rain is expected.

More than 17 inches of rain fell at Charleston International airport between Thursday and Sunday. Total rainfall in Mount Pleasant surpassed 26 inches over the same period.

SCE&G has reported 280 power outages throughout Charleston County and more than 13,000 customers without power statewide.

Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Al Cannon Detention Center Work Camp building is open as a shelter operated by the Sheriff’s Office. The work camp is located at the corner of Bridge View Drive and Leeds Avenue in North Charleston.
