The Charleston Comedy Festival is just a little over a month away and we’re already guffaw-ing at the promise of this year’s hilarity. Bridget Everett kicks off the festival on Friday Jan. 22, followed by T.J. Miller and Todd Barry on Sat. Jan. 23. You can also check out some local talent as the stand up competition winners open for Todd Barry. Winners of this year’s competition are Jeremy McLellan, Mike Goodwin, and Deshawn Mason.
Bridget Everett has been described by the New York Times as “raw and riotous,” and she has appeared on TV shows like Inside Amy Schumer, Girls, and Sex and the City. (Tickets on sale now.)
Todd Barry, often recognized as the “Third Conchord” on HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, is best known for his deadpan self-deprecating humor. Barry has appeared on Louie, Delocated, Bored to Death, Tim and Eric, Chappelle’s Show, and more. (Tickets on sale now.)
T.J. Miller most recently starred in Disney’s animated movie, Big Hero 6, as the voice of Fred. Miller’s biography describes his comedy as “absurdist observational standup.” Miller is also a star on the HBO show, Silicon Valley. (Tickets on sale now.)
