Merritt and Tenny founded COAST in 2007, making it the second brewery to open in Charleston. Merrit attended the American Brewer’s Guild when he was just 20 years old and Tenny founded the SC Brewer’s Guild, a nonprofit that helped craft beer make changes in existing beer laws. And they make a mean Kolsch.
