The Holy City is shuttering its doors a few days this week, but we’ve still rounded up the free-est of the free stuff to do before and after St. Nick comes to town.

Monday

Drink ’til it’s funny, until you’re funny, or, just keep drinkin’. The Sparrow hosts open mic tonight starting at 9:30 p.m.

Elliotborough Mini Bar hosts Bingo & Blues from 7-10 p.m. Play bingo for a chance to win free beer.

Generosity doesn’t cost a thing — nominate a friend, co-worker, or family member for a wish that could be granted by the ‘Art of Creating. Drop your nomination off at Out of Hand at 113C Pitt. St. in Mt. Pleasant.

Tuesday

Sing, dance, or recite poetry — or watch someone else do it at Palmetto’s open mic from 5-7 p.m. If you’re feeling festive order a Ginger Slap, Palmetto’s holiday-inspired beer now on tap.

Give blood, get good feels. Oh, yeah, you get a gift too! Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in West Ashley will be taking blood from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Win cash at 8 p.m. with Tin Roof’s Trivia with Tia and Val or head to Home Team BBQ on Sullivan’s for their version of team trivia, also at 8 p.m. Not enough trivia for ya? Bay Street Biergarten’s got some too, starting at 8:30 p.m. with winners taking home a $10, $25, or $50 bier card.

Wednesday

Name the Music at Southside 17 at 5:30 p.m. Guess song titles and release dates to win prizes every half hour.

Swingin’ around the Christmas tree, right? Practice your moves at Prohibition’s swing dance sesh starting at 6:30 p.m.

You only have a couple more days to de-stress before Santa comes. Head to Holy Cow Yoga at 7 p.m. for a guided meditation.

Thursday

Not gonna lie, this event makes us weep like tiny babies. If you’re free on Christmas Eve call Pet Helpers and let them know you’d like to sing Christmas carols with their cats and dogs from 7-8:30 p.m.

This is the last day to catch Santa at the Citadel Mall from 10 a.m.- 6p.m. You can also catch the jolly guy (he gets around!) at Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre from 12-8 p.m.

Saturday

Holy Cow Yoga hosts a community class at 9:30 a.m. — the class asks for either a monetary of food donation to Pet Helpers. They especially want cat toys and Greenies pill pockets.

Celebrate Kwanzaa in Marion Square with a lighting of the first candle at 5 p.m.

Spend your Saturday at Irvin-House Vineyards where Don Merkle will play live music and there will be food available for purchase from Linen’s Barbecue.
