[image-1]The light of sunset filters through just-barely transparent panels, tracing graceful lines formed by dancers. Glance to the side and you’ll see dancers in the wings, lacing up pointe shoes and waiting to perform. In the Light Box of Reverb Charleston, nothing is hidden from the audience in Crystal Wellman’s Light Lines, a new kind of performance held in the city’s newest yoga/dance/multipurpose studio on July 14 and 15.

Wellman, a dancer and choreographer who has worked with Charleston Dance Project and Ballet Evolution, drew inspiration from Reverb’s bright, open space to create an intimate and interactive performance. The evening begins at 7 p.m. with wine from McCarus Beverage Company. At dusk, eight professional Charleston dancers will begin, moving through the space with no raised stage or barriers to separate them from audience members.

[image-2]After the performance, guests can move to Pacific Box & Crate to enjoy cocktails featuring Cathead Vodka and Cannonborough Beverage Company sodas and snacks from Warehouse’s chef Emily Hahn. DJ Auntie Ayi will provide music.

You can check out Light Lines on July 14 and 15 from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets (there are only 50 for each show, so get ’em fast) are available at Crystal Wellman’s website and through Eventbrite.
