Imagine: It’s mid-January, it’s cold, it’s cloudy, and 2018 is already kicking your ass. Is there a better way to catch a break from the doom and gloom of winter than some French food and a Meryl Streep movie?
On Thurs. Jan. 11 head to the Music Hall for a screening of Julia & Julia to cure your seasonal affective disorder.
You can start your evening with a three-course prix fixe menu meal inspired by Julia Child at 39 Rue de Jean. Purchase a ticket and reservation for dinner at either 5:30 p.m or 6 p.m, and the screening begins at 7 p.m. There are four separate tiers for ticketing:
Tier 1: Just a ticket to the movie screening. Tickets for the film, starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, are $8.
Tier 2: Dinner + Film Package. Tickets at this tier are $54.64 and include the three course prix fixe menu and the film.
The menu features cream of watercress soup with lemon oil; braised lamb with potato, carrot, turnip, onion, and peas; and chocolate mousse with fresh raspberries.
Tier 3: Dinner + Film + ½ Glass Wine Pairing Package. This includes the prix fixe menu dinner, two 3 oz. dinner wine pairings and 1.5 oz. dessert wine pairings by Andres Contreras, Charleston City Paper’s Best Sommelier of 2017 and entrance to the film for $69.27.
Tier 4: Dinner + Film + Full Glass Wine Pairing Package. This includes the prix fixe menu dinner, two special 5 oz. dinner wine pairings and 3 oz. dessert wine pairings poured by Andres Contreras and entrance into the film for $78.60.
