[embed-1] GrowFood Carolina is going foraging for the tastiest mushrooms in town, and wants you to tag along.

The fifth annual Mushroom Gathering will be held Fri. Nov. 2 starting at 6 p.m. at the GrowFood warehouse on Morrison Drive. Guests will dine on mushroom-inspired dishes from chefs including Travis Grimes (Husk), Shaun Brian (Parcel 32), Nick Wilber (Basic Kitchen), Michael Zentner (Butcher & Bee), Andy McCleod (Dockery’s), Tim Richardson (Hank’s), Cameron Wetzler (Roti Rolls), and Russ Moore (S.N.O.B.).

Learn more about the fungi you’ll be consuming at a talk held earlier in the day by mycologist Tradd Cotter. The “Mycologists without Borders” lecture takes place at the Culinary Institute of Charleston Palmer Amphitheater starting at 4:30 p.m. Cotter’s talk will focus on how “when the sharing of mycological information becomes accessible and widespread among communities and civilizations there will be a shift in the paradigms of medicine, agriculture, and planetary healing.”

Tickets to the Mushroom Gathering dinner are $55, $40 for students and military, and free for farmers and foragers currently working with GrowFood Carolina.
