Country legend and Grammy award-winner Tim McGraw and Pulitzer-Prize winner Jon Meacham have joined together to write a book — and it’s getting its own tour. The Songs of America tour will come to the Gaillard Center on June 11 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets go on sale today, Fri. April 19 and range in price from $65 to $350. Tickets can be purchased by calling (843) 242-3099, online, and in person at the Charleston Gaillard Center.

The pair’s book Songs of America: Patriotism, Protest, and the Music that Made a Nation will officially go on sale June 11, but all of those who attend the national seven-city tour to support the book will get a free copy (a $30 value) included with their ticket.

Songs of America is a heartfelt remembrance of American greatness and the songs that inspired it. Spanning from the national anthem to Springsteen’s “Born in the USA,” Meacham and McGraw take a tour through American music history and how it shaped our culture.

On the tour, the writing pair will offer a glimpse into the writing processes that led to creating the book — and talk about their unique friendship. McGraw will also treat audiences to some musical performances of songs that are featured in the book.
