[UPDATED 4 p.m., 5/21/24] Officials with the S.C. State Ports Authority at 2:30 p.m. announced state ports’ operating systems were back up and running and the state’s ports were open after software issues forced closures all day Monday and into Tuesday.
“We appreciate the support of our maritime community and the patience of partners as we work through the restart of operations,” the 2:30 p.m. announcement reads.
The port was expected to reopen today at 5 a.m. until two further delays were announced at 4:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. on the company’s website.
Port officials shut down operations all day Monday after a “vendor software issue impacted a server.” Officials clarified it did not appear to be a cybersecurity issue. [See our Monday story with more background.]
