Jurassic Seas at S.C. Aquarium to open

An exhibit 70 million years in the making opens Monday at the South Carolina Aquarium. Jurassic Seas, which is included with the aquarium admission price, sends guests into the late Cretaceous Period to encounter life-size skeletal replicas, examine stunning fossils and learn through interactive displays. This new experience will have everyone in the family from fossil fanatics to biology buffs playing paleontologist.

Bourbon Bash

Head to the Striped Pig Distillery for a day of celebration and fun for the distillery’s fourth birthday. Hope in Motion 5K

Founded in 1998, the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market celebrates the hard work of local farmers and makers. The town of Kiawah Island is hosting its weekly Food Truck Friday series through June 26, bringing flavorful foods and diverse selections. Each Friday features one rotating savory food truck, offering everything from pizza to global flavors. On select Fridays, guests can also find an additional dessert or beverage truck, adding a sweet or refreshing complement to the lineup.

Happyland is a new site-specific musical at Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim (KKBE), 90 Hasell St., which is set in pre–Civil War Charleston and inspired by the true story of one of the first Reform Jewish congregations in America.

Awards winner: Chubby Fish remains on North America’s list of 50 Best Restaurants. The annual award from World’s 50 Best Restaurants has celebrated the global culinary landscape since 2002. A panel of 1,120 culinary experts vote each year. Chubby Fish is in the 21st spot this year — and was 19th in 2025.

Cafe all day: Michael Toscana, owner of Le Farfalle, Da Toscana Porchetta Shop, Fugazzi at Revelry Brewing Co. and Blanca Estrada, is opening an all-day cafe at 157 Market St. The Larrikin will serve coffee, lunch items in the afternoons and evening cocktails.

Poolside dining: Bloo Pool and Provisions, a poolside restaurant, has opened in the Live Oak hotel at 425 Meeting St. The menu has coastal dishes, tropical cocktails and a focus on local seafood. The food program is led by Executive Chef Eucepe Puntriano, formerly of Marbled & Fin.

Brunch for a cause: Wild Olive is hosting a brunch fundraiser at Low Tide Brewing from 10 a.m. to noon June 7. The event will benefit the family of Markious Smith, a longtime Wild Olive employee whose wife is recovering from cancer surgery. There will be a buffet style brunch, drinks and beer as well as a specialty made drink menu. Black Tree Music Group will provide entertainment for the event. Tickets cost $100.

Laugh with the ladies: Les Dames d’Escoffier International is hosting “Amused Bouche” at 6:30 p.m. June 8 at Parcel 32. The evening of food, drinks and improv comedy will be centered around the real experiences of working in food, beverage and hospitality. Les Dames d’Escoffier International is a global nonprofit. The event benefits culinary scholarships along with Les Dames community liaisons.
