The Greater Park Circle Film Society will be showing Saint of 9/11 on Wed. Sept 9. The 2006 documentary was directed byย  Glenn Holsten and Ishal Setton.

Park Circle Films provides this synopsis:

“The first official casualty when planes ripped through the World Trade Center was Chaplain Mychal Judge. He had just given last rites to a fallen firefighter. The Saint of 9/11, an inspiring film narrated by Sir Ian McKellen, covers many aspects of this Franciscanโ€™s life and ministry, from his Irish roots through his appointment as the Chaplain of the NYC Fire Department. Baptizing firefightersโ€™ children, serving the homeless, and ministering to persons with AIDS characterized the compassion and courage of just an ordinary man who also happened to be gay.”

The special screening will be at Deja Vu II, 4628 Spruill Ave., in Park Circle. Tickets are $2 for members of The Greater Park Circle Film Society and $5 for non-members. You can get tickets and/or a membership at the door. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m.
