Looking to save some bucks? Stop throwing away money on books you’ll never read again and support your local library.
September is national Library Card Sign Up Month, which targets students in particular. Adults signing up for a new card will receive a $2 gift certificate good for the blow-out Friends of the Library book sale Oct. 9-11, and current card-holders can replace their old cards with new ones, including a key chain attachment, for free.
Also this month at the main library on Calhoun Street, Robert Merrill Sweeny presents an exhibit called Graffiti … and the Art in Neglect in the Saul Alexander Gallery. Get more information, including the month’s entire schedule of events and promotions, on the library’s website.
