Current Chicagoan filmmaker Stephen Cone — who was born and raised in Charleston — is returning to his hometown in July to film his second full-length feature, The Wise Kids. “On a personal note, this is the most important and personal project of my artistic life thus far, and the film I’ve been working towards since my self-education in film began in 2005,” he says on his website (conearts.com). The Wise Kids will focus on the lives of three teenagers in the period between high school and college. Themes include religion, homosexuality, and all-around growing pains. His previous films include The Christians and In Memoriam.
