MONDAY. Since it’s the Charleston Park Conservancy’s Park Week, there’s many naturey events happening around town. Tonight is the Peninsula Pedal. And since there’s always so much going on during Spoleto that it’s often hard to figure out just what you should see. Edward Hart, Robert Taylor, and Mark Sloan will help you plan at the Spoleto Sneak Preview.
TUESDAY. Movies at Mixson has Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which is BYOCB (bring your own candy bar). Your dog will love you forever if you take him or her (or them) to the Paws in the Park Walk in Hampton Park.
WEDNESDAY. Author Karen White will sign copies of The Beach Trees at Blue Bicycle Books (and she’s got another signing at the Mt. Pleasant Barnes & Noble on Thursday).
THURSDAY. All the ladies of the Lowcountry can hear important informational sessions on women’s health — plus shop and listen to live music — at the We Know Women Event. If you’re a married couple looking to spice up your love life, you might want to see Carolyn Evans, who recently published Forty Beads: The Simple, Sexy Secret for Transforming Your Marriage, at Blue Bicycle. North Charleston hosts an art walk in honor of the Charleston Pride Festival.
FRIDAY. Charleston Bike Fest dominates North Charleston this weekend, and many of its activities are free. Meta Sapient, Proton Factories, sometimes CP contributing photographer BadJon (Jonathon Stout) have collaborated for The Three Amigos Ride Again, For the First Time. (Hint: They’re going to have Sweeteeth chocolate at the show.) Jessica B. Harris will sign copies of High on the Hog. It’s the last Movies in Marion Square. It’s tragic, we know, but at least The Other Guys will keep you laughing. Hopefully it’ll be a clear night, not only for the film but for stargazing at Evening at Etiwan.
SATURDAY. Be Proud at the Charleston Pride Rally. Eye Level Art hosts another round of Holy City Artist and Fleas, this time a two-dayer. There’s some free yoga in Marion Square. If you’re looking to do some spring gardening, get some new plants at the Hampton Park Plant Swap or the Isle of Garden Club Plant and Garage Sale. Mary Alice Monroe will appear at Waldenbooks. Greenway Studio in Avondale presents their May Photography Art Exhibition, featuring work from three local photographers.
SUNDAY. AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour will offer free health screenings to anyone 18 and older.
