The Walmart Carrier Classic has announced that for a limited time only, tickets are being sold at a special 40% off discount for the  basketball double-header on Friday, Nov. 9. Before you get too excited: they’re still $300. But that’s a pretty hefty slash off the regular $500 price.

The highly-anticipated event will be televised nationally, and is aimed at raising awareness and respect for the men and women of the U.S. military. The games takes place on Veteran’s Day weekend, and in keeping with the theme, will be held on the highly decorated USS Yorktown in Mt. Pleasant. This iconic aircraft carrier served on active duty in World War II, and will be converted into a 4,000 person sporting arena for the double-header.

The first game starts at 4 p.m. and will feature the women’s teams from Ohio State and Notre Dame. The second game, scheduled for 7 p.m., is between the men’s teams from Ohio State (2012 Final Four) and Marquette (2012 Sweet Sixteen).

Proceeds from the Carrier Classic will all go to directly to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, The Wounded Warrior Project, and The Congressional Medal of Honor Society.
