Whether or not you can spring for tickets to Charleston’s coveted Fashion Week, there are plenty of other fashion-related events around town this week, ranging from new store openings to wild after-parties.
Check out the launch of online retailer fkvintage at Mellow Mushroom on Wednesday. There will be drink specials, music from DJfwb, models, and prizes. The first 30 guests will receive a special fk gift bag, so get there early.
The Out of Hand folks are branching out with a new venture called South, a boutique that they’re launching on Thursday. The store will show off products exclusively made below the Mason Dixon line. The event will also feature a trunk show by local jewelry designer Jill Bowman of JBowman Designs and specialty cocktails.
Cynthia Rowley is hosting a little shindig to preview the new Fall 2013 collection, which features a palette of darker colors and elegant designs. And, yes, champagne is involved.
But if you need a little break before the partying on Thursday, there’s always room to relax with a little retail therapy. Copper Penny is hosting a trunk show all day with special discounts and designs by Trina Turk. Turk’s collection, filled with bright colors and vibrant patterns, promises a cheerful embrace to Charleston spring. On Friday, they’re having another trunk show with Diane Von Furstenberg. On Saturday, it’s Michelle Smith.
The NOIR party at Five Four Nine seems like the most fashionable way to end your Thursday and start your weekend. The party will feature CFW alum Emily Bargeron of Mamie Ruth and eyewear designer Stevie Boi.
On Friday afternoon, nurse your hangover with Australian wedding dress designer Callie Tein and a little champagne at Modern Trousseau.
On Saturday, check out the free Hydration fashion show at The Alley. The show will display swimsuits from local store Las Olas and end with a party.
