We got a little peek of what CBS’ new crime drama Reckless would show us in the earlier previews, but last night’s premiere (watch it here) was a full-fledged coming out party for the city in its primetime debut on network TV. We’ll have a recap later, but for now, take a look at these shots from the show’s pilot, which shed a little more light on Reckless’ take on the Holy City.

Now, we promise we won’t parse every single step these neo-Charlestonians take in every episode, but it’s the pilot, so give us a break. In the show’s cold opening, you see officer Lee Ann Marcus (Georgina Haig) high-tailing it out of a bar at Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant before she gets pulled while driving on the northbound side of the Ravenel Bridge. Hm.

Next, we see City Paper cover boy Roy Rayder (Cam Gigandet) driving his boat to work (as you do), zipping away from the Ravenel and back alongside the Yorktown before pulling up to a dock at the Charleston City Marina on Lockwood. Now, if ol’ Roy’s house is on James Island (see comment) and he’s commuting to the City Marina, we’re no expert mariners here at the City Paper, but if the opening sequence is in order and our calculations are correct, here’s the approximate route that Roy took to work…

OK, done being that guy. Promise. Here’s what else you’ll see in last night’s premiere—some of these scenes we already saw in the previews.

Rader’s law office in a house on South Battery

Law office of Jamie Sawyer (Anna Wood) on Wentworth Street

Art studio on Upper King Street (with a different facade for the exterior shot)

Aaaand, a (presumed) stand-in for Joe Riley himself, mayor of Reckless’ Charleston
