Whether you’re in the fits of new found romance or bemoaning a breakup, there’s no avoiding the fact that Saturday is Valentine’s Day. Luckily, Sugar Bakeshop owners Bill Bowick and David Bouffard have everyone covered with their Sweet Love event happening Sat. Feb. 14.
To assist Cupid, the partners have added a new shop to the Bakeshop where you can buy romantically-themed sweets, candles, soaps, and Vermont maple syrup made by Bouffard’s cousin. You can even show your dog some love with heart decorated canine treats. Plus, photographers from Karson Photography will be on location from 1-3 p.m. snapping pictures of customers that will be posted online.
“We’re also offering breakfast/brunch gift packages,” says Bowick. “Everything you’ll need to have pancakes and eggs is included.” Each bag includes one dozen local eggs from Chucktown Chicken, a recipe for pancakes, dry pancake mix, butter, buttermilk in a mason jar, and maple syrup.
Cannonborough Beverage Co. will also be handing out samples of their locally made beverages, and gift bags will be sold along with the Valentine’s Day confections. But call ahead to reserve your gift of choice as they will be limited.
