Rock the Block raises funds for families battling pediatric cancer.

Charleston restaurant Home Team BBQ is set to host its annual Rock the Block fundraiser on Feb. 24 at its downtown Williman Street location.

Now in its sixth year, the yearly event raises money in support of Hogs for the Cause and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston.

Both nonprofit organizations provide direct support for local families that are dealing with pediatric cancer, whether through financial grants or temporary residency amidst lengthy hospital stays.

In 2023, Home Team BBQ was able to raise more than $90,000 for Hogs for the Cause and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston, adding to the years of support the restaurant has provided for the two organizations.

This year’s Rock the Block street party will feature live music performances by Honey Island Swamp Band and Broken Speakers, and will be closed out by the headlining band, Krasno/Moore Project.

In addition to taking in the electrifying day of fun tunes, attendees will also get the opportunity to indulge in various culinary delights from six award-winning guest chefs, along with two large bars offering a wide selection of refreshing beverages.

For those seeking an elevated experience, adult VIP tickets are also available for the event and include all-you-can-eat offerings from an additional group of five local chefs, as well as open bar access.

“Rock the Block is truly one of our favorite events because it combines all the things we love to do; food, music, good vibes, and we get to do it all to raise money for a great cause,” said Aaron Siegel, chief operation partner and pitmaster for Home Team BBQ.

General admission for Rock the Block costs $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event, while adult and kids VIP tickets run for $200 and $35 respectively.

Tickets are available for purchase online at Eventbrite
